Kissimmee Man Dies, Two Others Hurt in Crash
Edward Mario Loescher, 55, of Alaska was killed on Sunday after his vehicle was struck by another car that was driving in the opposite direction, police said.
According to Orlando police, sometime around 5:12 a.m., Loescher was driving north on the exit ramp of State Road 528 toward State Road 436. As he approached SR 436, another driver, Howard Evans, 65, of Kissimmee, driving in the opposite direction on the ramp, struck the front of Loescher’s pick-up truck. Loescher died at the scene and his passenger, Debbie Loescher, 55, also of Alaska, has been listed in critical condition. Evans, is in stable condition.
Officers said charges are pending.
Boil Water Alert for Poinciana
A boil-water alert has been issued for parts of Poinciana due to a ruptured water line. According to the Toho Water Authority, the line has since been repaired, but more than 1,000 people still need to boil their water before using it.The affected areas include the Belltower Crossing, the Venezia Subdivision, Bobcat Court and Bobcat Lane. All water should be boiled for at least one minute, including water used for drinking, cooking and brushing teeth.
Another Pedestrian Killed in Kissimmee
An unidentified man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Kissimmee on U.S. Route 192 near Orange Boulevard on Tuesday morning. Officials had to close the roadway from Orange to Dyer boulevards temporarily, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. No other details have been released.
Two Arrested for Burglary in Kissimmee
Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Esteban Rodriguez and Michael Lopez-Ortiz for burglary on Monday.
Around 2 a.m., deputies responded to a burglary in progress call from 2619 Chatham Circle in Kissimmee. When they arrived, deputies spoke with the victim who said he was asleep when he heard a noise outside his bedroom window. He told the deputies he saw two suspects attempting to remove a screen from the window. When the suspects realized the homeowner was awake, they fled the area. Deputies searched the neighborhood and found two suspects matching the description given by the victim.
Lopez-Ortiz and Rodriguez were taken into custody and charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools. They were booked into the Osceola County Jail on $6,000 bond.
